About

Who am I?

I am a Digital Scholarship Librarian at the University of Toronto, Mississauga where I work on digitization and digital scholarship projects and support faculty and students in their teaching and research. I have been in the GLAM sector since 2016 and have expertise in audiovisual preservation, digitization, and digital research methods.

I started my career focused on audiovisual preservation and worked on film and video preservation and digitization projects at Visual Studies Workshop and the GLBT Historical Society Archives & Museum. From there I went on to work on digitization, digital exhibit, and digital repository projects at the University of British Columbia, Western University, and the University of the Fraser Valley. I'm particularly proud of my work on British Columbia Regional Digitized History and the South Asian Canadian Digital Archive.  I also worked on large scale metadata and taxonomy projects at CBC/Radio-Canada and inaugurated the Kingston Frontenac Public Library's data analytics program.

Needless to say, I love finding technological ways of solving problems in libraries and archives. I'm a big proponent of Python and am constantly looking for ways to use scripting to improve workflows and processes. Please bug me about it!
